Who We Are
About Us
We make sure citizens are ready to vote!
We help citizens:
- Change residence address
- Request an absentee ballot
- Learn about acceptable photo IDs and how to get them for voting
- Locate early polling places
- Know the date and times of early voting (in person absentee voting)
- Find information about upcoming elections and political candidates
- Register and vote on election day
The Milwaukee Voter Project is a grassroots group of non-partisan volunteers who are working to ensure that all citizens, especially those in underserved communities, are registered to vote and are aware of upcoming elections.
Training is simple, just a one hour Zoom meeting, tailored to meet your scheduling availability. You will be paired with an experienced volunteer for your first shift to answer any questions and help you become familiar with our procedures. Shifts for registering voters are two hours long and you can choose the day, time, and number of shifts you would like to work.
You do not have to be a Wisconsin citizen to help register voters. Many of our volunteers live in the north suburbs of Chicago and drive up for a few hour shift. DMV sites are about an hour’s drive from the Chicago area.
